Mary Barron - Silverfern

Silver Fern is a provider of First-Aid and Safety training. The company was formed in 2004 and is owned by Mary Barron. It has grown significantly since then and today provides high quality training across a broad range of courses. Apart from course provision, Mary has developed the company in key areas including course material, presentations and handouts in line with current legislation.

Course provision includes:

The company operates to the highest standards and all training programmes are developed using a Systematic Training approach with the specific training needs of the organisation/trainees in mind.

This covers:

  • Identify Training Needs
  • Needs analysis and identification of training goals to meet organisational needs
  • Design of program to meet the learning goals
  • Delivery of training including support for the individual and the group
  • Evaluation of course content and performance of the trainer

Mary has spent 30 years in medical related roles and is a very experienced trainer. She is a registered general nurse, registered midwife and certified coronary care nurse. She is a registered occupational first-aid instructor, registered Heartsaver CPR/AED instructor and also a qualified manual handling and a patient moving and handling instructor. She has 8 years experience in training related roles including Parentcraft education, care skills (FETAC Level 5), school respect program in addition to first-aid and safety training.

Mary is a member of:

  • The Irish Institute of Training and Development.
  • The Teaching Council - registered to provide training in the ‘Further Education’ sector.
  • The National Register of Trainers to deliver training to FAS programs
  • The Irish Safety and Health Trainers Network
  • The Irish Nurses Organisation

Mary has a great interest in people and health issues and has a certificate in Social, Personal and Health Education. With the many challenges facing people today, she believes strongly in the value of Health and First-Aid training in the workforce and indeed within the community at large as a means to preserve and save lives.
